Beetroot are very easy to grow ,I grew the three colours this year yellow, pink and blood ,the yellow and pink have circular stripes look nice taste like normal beetroot ,just something different ,I also grew the long ones and these are the ones I prefer

I asked what COLFLO 67 is its what you thicken pie fillings ,stews and soups that you put in the freezer modified for more shelf life in a freezer .

I do asparagus and greenbeans like this as well everyone loves them ,I will be using the peaches for chutneys and sauces for the next week so I will have to hunt some recipes up.

I have most sizes in the fowlers but I dont think the 65 is taller than the 36 and they work in my bwb but that is stainless steel but there are so many numbers out there ,my size 28 with 4.25 lid is a short jar I have a 27 that is tall and on that site it says a 42 has a 4'' opening but lid is 4.25...

I worked out that I needed to add the whole spices to the jars much easier way to make sure each jar has similar ammounts .I do spiced pickled carrots this way as well .

I make marinade and cut one of our chickens down the backbone paint it with the marinade and vaccum seal and freeze then thaw in the fridge overnight , and cook them in the slowcooker in the bag ,so moist and tender and full of flavour ,I think this is similar to what you are doing .

I have pickled about 40 jars and everyone eats them here ,also pickled asparagus and carrot sticks ,all still have that little crunch great in a salad or just as a snack .

beans done & lids are popping

last load of 10 kg of green beans are cooling down , I have 12 bottles of pickled carrots sticks ,and 10 bottles of pickled beans to put away and then I will have a rest ,and a local grower has cherries pick your own for $5 kg ,so taking hubby on an adventure .

Strawberries Galore

I will be making some strawberry sauce and syrup tonight after we eat the pavlova ,with all the rain we have had over the last few months , all our fruit has bounded along and lots of it as well .

We are still watching the locusts ,can't spray until the rain has gone ,and snails ! but on the good side I have just finished making 12 bottles of steak sauce ,I had some plums in the freezer needed to be used before another crop comes and the aroma is great and there is lots of pale pink raspberri...

we have a beautiful veggie garden and our fruit trees and raspberries are looking good but so are the locust hatchings when I went for a drive the road was covered for about 5 klms that was not very far from here either ,so we have our eyes peeled and fingers crossed .

This is the what I followed and it turned out nice I did use thicker stems the smaller ones I pickled and they still have a lot of crunch great in salad .

It is safe to can fruit purees I followed the directions from the USDA guidelines for mango puree also did peach and apricot and plum worked fine for me have done other fruits as well haven't tasted those as yet .
