Learn To Cook The Way Granma Did...

Postby Shadowgirlau » Sat Aug 23, 2008 7:49 am

I have just recently received a self published book titled as above and written by Abby Eagle of Queensland.

The book is based around traditional recipes in the spirit of Dr Weston A Price and Sally Fallon.

So far it has been an interesting read and is fairly informative. All of the recipes are centred around Lacto - Fermentation, sourdough breads and cakes, Kefir and Cheese, nuts and seed cheese and probiotic vegetables.

Have had an interest in lacto-fermentation for quite some time as this is an area I have a desire to gain more experience in. All I need now is a good kitchen and some Kefir grains :)
then the time to delve into this more deeply.

Hi Kathleen,

I'm sure Rosie could give you lots of information about Kefir...

And Cyllene (Helen) who used to be on the GL forum PM'ed me that she did Lacto-Fermentation, not sure if she'd answer a PM from you but she might? She'd be most interesting...

Thanks Vicki,

I seem to recall you mentioning that there were a couple of people on the GL forum who were lacto-fermenting.

I have been developing quite an interest in this area of cooking and preserving. I think it has some good health giving benefits worth exploring.

For instance, there is mention of food that has been lacto-fermented being very good for people and kids with ADHD and other hypersensitive issues. Certainly can't hurt to look into this further.

Told you I had quite eclectic tastes.
