Way to go! about time a case made it all the way through as now the lawyers will have a "precedence" I think it is called. Took long enough for someone to grow a back bone and stand up to the big guns though!

Was reading in one of the other groups I belong to and this list was posted of all the seeds that Monsanto owns along with another company. Will post the link which has a lot of interesting comments in it. The veggie varieties are a bit of a surprise though as quite a few of them are Heirloom varieties. They only own the seeds so I am not suggesting that they are in any way modified, I only think that this is interesting as it goes to show how far reaching this companies tentacles are into the food change. We also don't have a lot of these seeds over here that I have seen as there are only a few names that I recognize.

OK, so I had a thought, they have to start plant breeding with something, that something being open sourced/heirloom seeds, where the patent is not owned by anyone... myabe the world should get together and 'patent' every single bloomin seed that monsanto don't own... and then charge the b****rds for using them. Continue to make seeds free (of patent charges) to the common man, farmer, etc, but to palnt breeding companies.... exorbitant prices.

Hi Jo,

Love the idea of that ;-)

It's a worry with the new Gov looking at signing this TPP agreement, it could mean we HAVE to take and use GM seed and product

Cheers,

Vicki
