Thank you, I think it turned out pretty good myself as do those who tried it. Didn't last the weekend so that also says something I guess. Because I had decided to add a coffee syrup to the cake while it was cooling I decreased the amount of liquid in the recipe (so it didn't turn out too soggy) and was pleasantly surprised when it worked out okay. Was nice an moist with out being soggy (more like a fudge or mud cake) and the mocha filling was great. Here again I decreased the amount of sugar in the filling because I decided that the icing that covered the whole cake would be sweet enough and luckily it was.
Don't you just love it when your experiments turn out okay?
Jo I have umpteen dozen cook books stashed away and am so looking forward to the day when we are in our house and I can unpack them. (along with all my collectibles and most importantly my Christmas decorations)
Will be like Christmas when I get to unpack them as I am sure I can't remember what everything looks like
Think I will make something nice like an orange cake using a whole orange for something different next?
